Slimming World: Chocolate bananas

Having been to the farmers market on Monday, where you can pick up buckets (literally) of various fruits and vegetables for prices that are beyond ‘reasonable’.  I wondered what to do with two bunches of ripe bananas, cause I knew they wouldn’t last as long as eating one a day would require them to.

I decided to freeze some of them, but what better way to freeze them, than to dip them in chocolate?!  And all for 2 syns a piece? (actually 1.6 syns but I’ve rounded up) Bargain!

Ingredients
4 medium bananas
100g 70% dark chocolate – I used Green and Blacks (30 syns)
2 teaspoons shredded coconut (3 syns)

Directions
1. Line a baking sheet or a tray with wax paper.

2. I boil water in a saucepan, under a bowl that has the chocolate in (or use a double boiler).  I find that it keeps the chocolate from congealing for longer.  Stir continuously.

3. Slice bananas into bite-size pieces, about 6-8 pieces per banana, after nibbling on chunks while working, I ended up with 20 chunks total.

4. Using a spoon, dip each banana piece into melted chocolate and coat. Remove from bowl and place on wax paper.

5. Sprinkle dipped banana pieces with coconut.  Place in freezer for about an hour.

These are delicious, the bananas taste creamy and the dark chocolate provides enough of a taste of chocolate to satisfy any cravings that you might have!
