Gum-sy!

Thursday, was a shitty day.  Yes, I said shitty.

It started with me getting some pink racer stripes at Dr Satan’s office.  He said I was improving (which, I knew from the week I just had), but he said he was still only using 50% of the pressure he should be using, but that that didn’t really matter.  It hurt a lot, but, I truly believe he’s doing me more good than harm!

That afternoon, I was off to Dr Jessica’s office to have my four wisdom teeth removed.  Yes, at the same time…I paid extra for a sedative, then about ten needles being shoved in my jaw to numb me, plus happy gas, I didn’t feel much (aside from my bottom teeth being yanked, which hurt, in spite of the drugs!)  The top ones came out pretty easily, and with the amount of drugs I’d been given, like I say, I didn’t feel much at all (until the following day, when all the good stuff wore off).

Friday, I stayed at home, in bed most of the day, my diet, from the moment I had my teeth pulled, was smoothies, ice cream, mash potatoes and mac and cheese.  I spent the day watching season 5 of Army Wives (followed by starting season 2 of Private Practice) and trying to sleep off my pain.  It was definitely more sore than the previous day, lots of pain killers and rest was pretty much all I could do, that, and chomping down on gauze pads!

Col and I headed out to an Aeros game (with Natalie, Jamie, Frances, Ben and Frances’s friend from home), but ten minutes in to the journey, I had to make him turn around and drop me off.  I felt like crap.

Sunday night, we had a few visitors.  We were supposed to head out for dinner with friends, however, since I was so banged up, we decided to host dinner here at ours.  I made lasagne with garlic bread, Katherine brought a delicious salad and Amee brought cake.

It was such a delicious cake!! I’m hoping that people in Col’s office enjoyed the left overs – I couldn’t keep it at home, or I’d have just eaten it all myself! It was our ‘last supper’ before Amee heads back to Singapore, t’was nice to see everyone, the boys enjoyed watching Toy Story 3 and we got to Skype with Colin in Singapore, it was a nice night, especially given the hell both I (and poor Col) had been through since Thursday!

I even got to take my teeth home!

I wanted to keep my wisdom! LOL

I just hope she got the other piece out from the one on the bottom left that looks broken!

  1. I was put to sleep when my4 wisdom teeth were pulled and that was the greatest. Gotta love anesthesia. I didn’t feel anything for days. 🙂 I didn’t keep souvenir teeth though. lol.

  2. I was going to *like* this post but then thought that liking a post about a shitty day, a guy named Dr. Satan, and you missing an Aeros game would some how be mean. So this is me disliking your post/shitty day. But yay! for pain meds, lasagne, chocolate cake, and friends!….all at the same time 🙂

    1. LOL!!! That’s very considerate of you!! Sometimes I think twice before I like a post, it’s like, do I REALLY like it, or is that a bit weird? haha!!

      Chocolate cake cures all ailments!
