When you least expect it…

I’ve been having a tough time, this last fortnight or so…but yesterday and today, I’ve been pulling myself out of the mire.

I came home tonight to a particularly nice email from a friend of mine I met in choir…

“You have a natural talent when you speak and write.  You convey such positive energy the reader speaker wants to hop along.
No money or training can provide that.  You should think of a career in that area since you are indeed very good with people.  You do everything with such ease.”

Ok, she hasn’t known me a particularly long time, so I’m sure her opinion will wear down over time (LOL!) but I can’t say that her email didn’t make me beam!

Also waiting for me at home, was a huge care-package from a wonderful friend of mine back home in sunny Northern Ireland.  It was filled with fantastic treats and pieces from home, she also included in the package, a beautiful card – which, of course, made me cry (in keeping with my Beatles break down earlier in the theatre.

Adele wrote the nicest card ever,

“You have been, and are, such an amazing friend!! Your endless love, care and support has been outstanding and I really do appreciate it.  I am so lucky to have you in my life and to have you as my friend”

Needless to say, ‘the tears were tripping me’ as we’d say at home!

As if that wasn’t enough, my email then ‘pinged’ with another great message, this one was more ‘professional’ in nature.  It had been sent out to a select group from our larger choir,

“I am writing to invite you to join the newly reconstituted United Nations Association International Chamber Singers (UNAICS).  By invitation of the artistic director, the Chamber Singers is comprised of approximately 25-30 members of the larger UNA International Choir who have superior musical, vocal, and sight-reading ability.  That is you!”

I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am about this – I can’t wait to get stuck in!

It’s not very often I get such nice words written to me/about me, never mind multiple in one day, I’m going to bed on cloud 9, reeling from all the positive vibes and in great spirits.

Tonight I’m going to bed thankful for such a fortunate life with such great friends and for being able to re-ignite my passion for music and singing here in Houston!

    1. Awwwwww Delly! You know just what to say to make a girl feel a million bucks!!! It was more than a ‘wee’ pick me up, it was a box of gold that brightened our day – it was very, very, very well received!!! Love you so much princess xx

  2. What wonderful notes/letters to receive! I have to agree with the choir friend about your positive energy. I would suggest you look into a career as a professional planner. You are always planning parties and things, and do a fab job of it as far as I can tell. I think you should make it into a career, get paid to do something you obviously enjoy. 🙂 (Why else would you spend so much time and energy on making a party perfect? 🙂 )

You are incredibly thoughtful and warm, and you have this incredible knack for having just the right idea for a person and knowing what you can do for them to make them smile. That is a rare gift, Las, and you are .. well for lack of a better word .. absolutely incredible.

    1. Awwww Cheri!! You’re making me all sniffly this afternoon! *blushes* I’m glad people see things in me that I don’t see in myself, cause being told such things make me think that perhaps they could be right! 😀 Soooo lucky to have friends like you who keep me filled with my positive energy 🙂

  3. Congrats on the UNAICS and on being an awesome friend! It’s nice when other recognize your talents and your value in their life. *hug* Go get ’em!
