Day 2 – Downward Dog…

Today, was an Aunty Las and Averie day.  Amber went to work and Aves slept in until around 9, when she beamed her little smile at me and said, ‘Hi Aunty Las’.  For breakfast, she very politely requested we had strawberries, bananas and cool whip like before – she’s a gal who knows what she wants!

She also had cereal 🙂

We played, coloured, did puzzles – she didn’t wanna go outside, in spite of numerous offerings, and, instead, wanted to watch Snow White with her Aunty Las, a film I’ve not seen in a long time – so it was definitely fun!

Watching snow white - with the blankie Aunty Las made for mummy!

After a lunch of grilled cheese and hot dogs, I tried to put her down for a nap.  She was totally exhausted, well and truly in need of a nap (in spite of her, ‘I not tired’ and ‘no nap’ protests) after about 10 minutes of crying and sobbing she fell asleep for about an hour and a half.

Perfect timing, since we’d gotta go and pick up her momma!

When we’d picked up her up, we headed straight to the gym, where we did a half hour on the treadmill and, for the first time ever, I did weights for a half hour too! It didn’t kill me like I thought it would and, in fact, I felt pretty good at the end of the work out!

After the gym, we rewarded ourselves with mani pedis in the mall.  I’ve not had a mani pedi since my wedding back in October – it was DIVINE to get pampered.  I really should do it more often, but, with the bad, lifetime habit of nail-biting in tow – I rarely have decent length nails to get manicured, so I guess it never really occurs to me to do it!

Getting pampered

We ended up with a particularly late (10pm-ish) dinner of lasagne.  It was DELICIOUS! Amber had bulk cooked it a couple weeks ago and it was sooooo tasty!

After we ate dinner, Aaron took Averie for a bath and Aunty Las and mummy Amber headed out to the back garden with the guts of a pint of ice cream to demolish while we caught up a little.  I enjoyed sitting out in the garden, the temperatures are a lot more temperate than in Texas, so it was a lot milder – almost chilly – perfect.  I could have sat there all night if I wasn’t totally knackered!

However, I wasn’t ‘allowed’ to go to bed til I did Amber’s Yoga 30 minute yoga routine with her before bed, which, didn’t kill me as much as I thought it would either (though I did hurt my thigh!)…

This is EXACTLY how I looked!
