Slimming World: Baked Garlic Brown Sugar Chicken

I had chicken defrosted, and no idea what to do with it.

As always, Pinterest came through for me, and after ‘Slimming worlding’ it up a little by using a lower calorie sugar substitute, we were ready to go.

I, personally, thought it was a little too sweet and could have done with some balsamic vinegar or something, to cut the sweetness a little.

But it was definitely yet another repeatable recipe in the McMaster household!

Ingredients
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar - 6 syns (I used the ½ and ½ substitute)
  • Pam/Spray oil
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 500°F and lightly grease a casserole dish.
  2. In small sauté pan, sauté garlic with the oil until tender.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar.
  4. Place chicken breasts in a prepared baking dish and cover with the garlic and brown sugar mixture.
  5. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Bake uncovered for 15-30 minutes.
Notes
For me, personally, it's a little too sweet, next time I'd add a splash or two of balsamic vinegar to cut through the sweetness and add a little tart!

  1. This is already on my list of things to try… but I like it sweet, so I’ll probably just leave it as is!!
